FaceApp vs FaceMagic: All You Need to Know About Them
Are you looking for a comprehensive comparison between FaceApp vs FaceMagic? While both tools provide the same key features, there are some differences.
In this post, I’ll discuss my experiences with both alternatives’ features, costs, and general performance. So, let’s get started!
FaceApp vs. FaceMagic: Features
FaceApp and FaceMagic are focused on face swapping and editing, with various filters and effects to choose from. While FaceApp offers a wider range of features, FaceMagic is known for its user-friendly interface and simplicity. In other words, you can replace faces in photos with different faces.
FaceApp is offered as a web and mobile app for Android, iOS, and PC. However, FaceMagic only offers mobile apps for iOS and Android.
I will go into more detail below, but here is a brief comparison of the results:
FaceMagic allows you to switch faces in photographs, movies, and GIFs with the same maximum support as FaceApp. However, it requires a minimum video upload time of 5 seconds; however, I could publish a 2-second video using FaceApp.
The first step was uploading the photographs I wished to exchange. Both technologies examined the image immediately following the upload, which took less than 10 seconds. However, the time required may vary depending on the file size and internet speed.
Furthermore, both applications save and display all of the faces identified from your uploads.
I tested them with an image of ten persons, and they recognized six of them. As a result, both FaceApp and FaceApp have facial recognition capabilities and can replace up to six faces at the same time
Choosing the new face you want to switch to is the next step. You have the option to choose from your previous uploads or upload a new one. That applies to both tools in the same manner.
Additionally, FaceApp provides two models:
- ShapeKeeper—changes the face while maintaining the form
- Face and shape are switched via ShapeTransformer.
Due to the ShapeTransformer’s experimental status, the ShapeKeeper turned out to be more dependable when I tested both.
Contrarily, FaceMagic provides:
- Standard model: maintains shape while transforming the face
- sophisticated model—changes shape and face.
Similarly, the advanced model (now in beta) for FaceMagic proved less dependable than the ordinary model.
Using the ShapeKeeper and Standard models for FaceApp and FaceMagic, respectively, I obtained the following first results:
You can only see minor adjustments to the nose, eyes, eyebrows, and wrinkles since I decided to preserve the face’s general contour.
Note: To guarantee reliable findings, I created every image used for testing in this comparison under the identical lighting circumstances.
With the tools, you can also perform the following:
- Remove the Background
- Improve Pictures
- Make pictures into cartoons.
Although the programs perform image swaps slightly differently, they often offer comparable features. FaceApp produced better outcomes in my evaluation.
User Interface and Usability
I had no trouble using FaceMagic or FaceApp.
They use nearly the same pattern for their mobile applications as well. Their homepage offers access to every function.
Additionally, the two applications’ face-swapping procedures were the same. With only one click, I could download the switched results and submit photographs with ease. On these, I could also view my creations and history.
However, unlike FaceApp, FaceMagic is not available as a web application. This is among the disadvantages that I saw.
I had greater freedom using the FaceApp mod apk online app. Additionally, it synchronizes your creations and uploads with the mobile version.
Cost
Pricing is a crucial consideration in my comparison of FaceApp and FaceMagic.Facemagic requires a membership. tool. But FaceApp has a free trial, and it offers a background remover, photo enhancer, and image cartoonizer. However, only Pro users can access its face swap feature.
FaceMagic offers a subscription model with a monthly package costing $9.99 and a yearly package at $49.99 for the first month and $99.99 for subsequent months. However, the monthly subscriptions only provide 20 credits for face swapping, which is not free trial-friendly.
- Photo face swap—0.1 credits per picture
- Video face swap—1 credit per 15-sec video
- GIF face swap—1 credit per GIF
So, if you finish the 20 credits before a month runs out, you’ll have to purchase them again.
